Houndmistress South Wales Trunk Road Agency
Like the other two Trunk Road Agencies in Wales, South Wales TRA (hosted and managed by Neath Port Talbot Council) does not make any attempt to scan dead dogs found on major routes for microchips. I will shortly be writing to all three Agencies to ask them to reconsider this policy and will update on their replies. In England, the Highways Agency is the equivalent body and does scan dead dogs. I am at a loss to understand why this policy cannot be more widely adopted. If any site users have any information on this issue which may be helpful or illustrate the thinking behind the current position in Wales, I'd be delighted to receive it.
