Houndmistress Powys Council Policy on scanning of stray dogs - Powys dog wardens will scan stray dogs if found, and it can be seen from their stray dog statistics that many dogs will not enter kennels at all. This suggests that many of the stray dogs found or collected by Dog Wardens in Powys are wearing ID when found. Unusually, Powys records a small number of dogs that are kept by their finder. Policy on scanning of dead dogs - Powys do not scan any dead dogs. Microchipping provision - Powys do not provide any microchipping service. Out of hours service for stray dogs - Two of the three kennels used by Powys are also points where the public can drop off dogs, and the service is available seven days a week. There is a limited evening service, and the website does not explain or differentiate arrangements for Bank Holidays. It is also not clear if the kennels will scan dogs brought in as a matter of routine. Payment can be made by cash, cheque, credit or debit card. No arrangements for payment by instalment. Kennelling Services - Powys uses three kennels, and between them manage to provide a seven day service for the receipt of strays, including into the evening for some sites.
